Bread Stick Picnic

Posted on August 18, 2016

If you went down to the woods today... as part of our Food Festival you would have seen a happy bunch of Little Foresters baking their bread over the fire ready for their picnic lunch.  Steve M. went along to Camp Hill for today's session, sharing his royal bread recipe (which we understand originated in royal household and has been passed from chef to chef until reaching Steve) with the group.  The children followed his lead wrapping the bread around their stick before cooking it over the fire and eating this while it was still lovely and warm.  They also tucked into a selection of raw vegetables, ham, cheese, fruit & flapjack.  When they had finished the children told Leanne and Rachel how "yummy" and "funny"  the bread was - we assume they meant the shape not the taste!

Orders for tomorrows Moussaka are still coming in, if you have not ordered yours yet we recommend you get in touch soon so you don't miss out.
