A Month of Stories

Posted on February 23, 2017

Everyone at Incy Wincy's is busy preparing for a month of stories in March, this will begin a day early as our friend, storyteller and author Pippa Pixley visits us on Tuesday.  As always Pippa will be weaving movement, mark making and songs together to bring her stories to life, to find out more about Pippa's work visit https://pippapixley.co.uk/.  This will be quickly followed on Tuesday by World Book, children are invited to join the staff in dressing up as their favourite storybook character for the day  - we have already heard a rumour about an alien wearing underpants appearing the Dragonfly Room!

The creative storytelling will continue at Incy Wincy's throughout March as we retell familiar stories and introduce new tales to the children. Our Parent Forum members asked recently that we share more books with families through our Book Borrower Baskets, so aswell as adding new titles we will be inviting the children to become Busy Borrowers; rewarding those that share a story a week at home with mummy, daddy or grandparents over the coming 10 weeks.

Family members can continue to join in our month of stories in the following ways: coming along to read a story to the children, writing a review for our Book Borrowers Basket or by simply staying & playing for a while to discover more about how we use stories in wonderful ways to support learning in all areas.
